ANIMAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN I
Animal Lab Technicians are responsible for the husbandry of all animals used in ongoing research projects at UAB. This role is critical for the university to achieve standard care of animals used in research. Job is an apprenticeship in laboratory animal technology, providing training and experience toward acquiring competence in caring for laboratory animals of different species and specialized colonies (i.e. pathogen free, germ free, and biohazard, etc.).
Hourly Wage Range: $15.00
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required.
Note: This position will require TB and drug testing for external candidates.
Preferred Additional Qualifications:
- Good communication skills.
- Self-starter with a good work ethic.
- In good physical condition with the ability to lift 50 or more pounds.
