- Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,368-bed AdventHealth Orlando serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America.
- AdventHealth Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country.

The role you’ll contribute:
Performs routine EEG and continuous EEG recordings per ACNS and departmental guidelines. Has the ability to analyze study information, scan, and correlate data. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Is knowledgeable in and carries out all applicable processes of the department. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures. Precepts and coaches other staff and students as required. Actively participates in departmental and AdventHealth performance improvement program. Observes the Advent Health Corporate Compliance Plan as well as all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Participates in record review sessions and attends monthly staff meetings. Performs additional duties as requested.

Patient Care Responsibilities
- Able to independently perform duties and responsibilities for electroencephalography and seizure monitoring according to ACNS guidelines and department policy.
- Recognizes clinically significant events and follows department policy and procedures regarding significant test results.
- Executes quality recordings by ensuring accuracy of data entry of patient and study demographic information, collecting pertinent patient history information, properly preparing the patient using age specific criteria, conducting the examination, and preparing the recording for the physician interpretation.
- Uses appropriate activation procedures.
- Informs the physician and/or supervisor of changes in the patient’s condition or abnormalities on the recording.
- Maintains supplies and equipment for patient care.
- Always interacts with patients and family members in a professional, courteous and compassionate manner following the AdventHealth Service Standards.
- Completes quality seizure monitoring studies with accurate and consistent documentation of patient state, behavior and events for the physician interpretation.
- Able to perform additional testing, such as PET, WADA, Ictal procedures.
Coaching/Training
- Provides technical guidance and coaching to other Technologists as required.
- Effectively precepts, demonstrates, and mentors students and other team members.
- Leads by example in all aspects of the job and able to effectively teach daily processes and work flows to others.
Quality Assurance
- Accurately documents, posts, and charges for procedures to ensure quality standards set by the department and hospital.
- Dynamically supports and participates in department and hospital quality improvement initiatives as directed.
- Contributes to process or performance improvement, and proactively initiates process improvement ideas.
- Performs testing of the highest quality and exceeds minimum established guidelines.
Safety and the Environment of Care
- Ensures equipment is in good working condition, able to perform basic troubleshooting steps and calls in service tickets when repairs are required.
- Adheres to hospital infection control and safety standards.
Customer Service
- Displays a professional, courteous and compassionate attitude under all circumstances.
- Maintains the confidentiality of patients, employees, administration, and medical staff information with no infractions.
Communication/Cooperation
- Receives and relays report clearly to communicate patient care information to provide optimal care.
- Exhibits patience and communicates respectfully to students/new staff during times of training. Serves as a role model of expected behaviors.
- Communicates and collaborates with multidisciplinary team to ensure high quality patient care.
- Communicates with patients and family members appropriate to age and instructs them in techniques to optimize their care in the hospital.
Meeting Attendance
- Attends monthly staff meetings, record review sessions and other meetings as required.
Professional Standards and Ethics
- Maintains continuing education requirements for ABRET for R. EEG T.
- Refuses to participate in unethical procedures and assumes the responsibility of informing the appropriate authority of noted incompetence or unethical behavior.
Resource Management
- Plans and manages time appropriately.
- Is sensitive to cost containment measures and conserves hospital supplies, equipment, and resources.
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Minimum of three years EEG/long-term seizure monitoring experience AND graduate of an Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Program or an Associate’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
- OR five years EEG/long-term seizure monitoring experience.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
- Registered in electroencephalography (R. EEG T.) by ABRET.
- BLS/CPR.
