Job Summary:
Staff pharmacists fill orders for medications, monitor patient medication therapy, and provide drug information. Staff pharmacists supervise and direct support personnel. Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders; detecting therapeutic incompatibilities. Dispenses medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals. Controls medications by monitoring drug therapies; advising interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reviews, prepares, and dispenses medications according to accepted standards of practice.
- Actively participates in all clinical activities within the department and/or facility to include, but not be limited to: (1) Patient and/or staff education regarding medication(s) (2) Documented interventions within the real-time clinical surveillance system as deemed appropriate.
- Effectively manages departmental resources.
- Provides quality, patient-specific drug information and recommendations to health care workers and patients.
- Establishes measurable yearly goals and objectives.
**Must be able to staff weekdays and weekends as needed**
**Must be able to participate in on-call shifts**
