Job Description:
Role
Primarily responsible for managing the region's fiduciary team and ensuring that quality services are provided to the client of the Bank. The position is also responsible for focusing on day-to-day sales of banking products/services to meet the needs of existing and prospective customers. Applies advanced knowledge of trust and investment principles to work performed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages and coordinates committee and sub-committee activities and the fiduciary and custodial activities of the department.
- Oversees compliance activities of the department; reviews all agreements for risk.
- Coordinates the negotiation and management of third party provider agreements.
- Directs and supervises work for the Trust Division; determines work priorities and schedules work assignments; interviews and recommends candidates; evaluates, orients, counsels, and trains subordinate personnel and recommends associated personnel actions.
- Administers trust and custodial services for current account holders while working closely with the Portfolio Manager.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Must comply with current applicable laws, regulations, bank policies and procedures, and Kansas and Missouri Uniform Trust Codes. Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
Experience
Eight or more years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
Education/Certifications/Licenses
Juris Doctor degree preferred or commensurate experience in complex trust administration.
Skills
- Analytical and critical thinking skills; Advanced understanding of product related regulations and tax implications; Advanced math and accounting skills; Accurate keyboard skills at 40 wpm and 10-key by touch; Advanced PC skills including word processing, spreadsheet and database applications; Advanced sales training and/or knowledge; Must be comfortable exercising sales and referral skills.
- The ability to motivate or influence internal or external senior level professionals is a critical part of the job, requiring a significant level of influence and trust. Obtaining cooperation and agreement on important outcomes via frequently complex, senior level dialogues, as well as a professional level of written communication skills are essential to the position.
