The Tax Accountant will be responsible for ensuring tax filing compliance in the US. This includes income tax, property tax, sales and use tax, and other tax compliance requirements. This role also supports our management team with tax-related issues.

A tax accountant at Flexco can expect to earn between $67,000 and $84,000, depending on skills and experience.
What you will need:
- Bachelor's required in accounting or related field
- Master’s preferred in tax or related field
- Minimum one (1) year of tax experience, preferably in State and Local Tax Compliance
- Strong MS Office skills required (especially Excel).
- Knowledge of tax filing program (OneSource/Go Systems) and tax research software is a plus.
- Exposure to Sage Fixed Assets is a plus.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to set and meet deadlines, including a strong ability to manage multiple tasks to completion.
- Ability to work overtime during peak tax seasons.
- Strong analytical ability and attention to detail is required.
- Effective communication through verbal and written skills is vital.
What you will be doing:
- Prepare and file state and local tax returns (income/franchise, sales/use, excise/commercial activity, and property tax)
- Prepare analysis and ensure timely filing of estimated payments and extensions for states.
- Prepare corporate annual reports.
- Respond to state notices and audits.
- Responsible for tax compliance calendar and sales exemption certificates.
- Assist with R&D interview and prepare supporting documents.
- Prepare the annual income tax provision for US entities
- Keep up to date with State legislative developments.
- Research and analyze state and local tax issues and regulations.
- Provide support for other miscellaneous projects within the accounting department.
- Perform other related duties as assigned and required.
