We are seeking a Finance Manager with strong financial analysis background to provide support for the Contribution Profit (CP) product owned by Profit Intelligence (PI), which is part of the Selling Partner Services (SPS) organization. SPS are responsible for several key elements of Amazon’s flywheel, ensuring low prices for our Customers, providing a rich toolkit for our Selling Partners, driving traffic and increasing conversion through replenishment and promotion programs, and driving profitability and controllership initiatives to lower our cost structure. PI develops systems and mechanisms that deliver profitability metrics, insights, and automated decision-making for the WW Consumer businesses; such as Historical Contribution Profit (HCP), Forecasted Contribution Profit (FLCP), Fortune, and Turismo. CP provides item-level profitability metrics for each item shipped and is used in both managerial reporting and automated systems across the WW Consumer businesses.
You will be partnering with operations, finance, accounting business, and technical teams across 14 marketplaces to audit, develop, and implement CP allocation methodologies that assign billions of dollars of revenue and cost to items and shipments. As a finance partner, you will own building mechanisms to drive controllership, accuracy, insights, and innovation in these products which directly ties to measurable improvements for the business, finance, sellers, and our customers. You will gain experience and help shape the fundamental aspects that drive the Amazon Retail and Seller businesses.
This role operates in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment, and the successful candidate must have the ability to influence the decisions of senior business leaders through effective verbal and written communication, including logical reasoning, data analytics, and the presentation of alternatives. The successful candidate must be able to think and act both strategically and tactically in an ambiguous environment with many stakeholders. This individual should possess solid business judgment, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a strong desire to dive deep into business problems and help solve them.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop and execute audit programs on Contribution Profit components and provide detailed findings.
- Partner with global, diverse stakeholders to develop and propose new allocation methodologies for revenues and cost.
- Provide validation and impact analysis support for program launches.
- Develop and automate governance and financial controllership mechanisms to ensure accountability, data quality, and accuracy through all aspects of the business workflow.
- Dive deep into financial statements, build financial bridging and benchmarking to measure accuracy and variance analysis using Cognos TM1.
- Identify automation and tooling opportunities to drive efficiency and improvements in the audit and allocation processes.
- Gather, reconcile, and analyze very large datasets through SQL and other analytical tools.
- Identify and communicate key metrics, achievements, and opportunities to drive product enhancements.
- Project management experience and ability to prioritize enhancements, features, and projects.
- Facilitate financial review meetings with cross-functional business, technical, and senior management.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience.
- BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science) and 5+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause, and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience.
- 7+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience.
- MBA, or CPA.
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL.
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
