We are looking for a detail-oriented, proactive Internal Audit Consultant to join our Accounting team. This role involves conducting in-depth audits of our financial, operational, and compliance processes, providing actionable insights to enhance business processes and maintain financial integrity. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in accounting principles, risk management, and audit methodologies, along with the ability to navigate complex financial systems and a keen eye for accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Audit Execution: Plan and execute internal audits across financial, operational, and compliance areas, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Risk Assessment: Perform comprehensive risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential financial or operational risks.
- Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret financial and operational data to identify trends, irregularities, and potential areas for improvement.
- Process Evaluation: Evaluate and test internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
- Reporting: Prepare and present clear, concise audit reports that summarize findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement action plans that address identified risks and enhance internal control frameworks.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization within the internal audit function, and keep updated with industry best practices and new regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CPA, CIA, or CISA certification preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in internal or external auditing, with a focus on financial audits.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, audit standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficient in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
