As part of our National Finance & Administration Services department, you’ll help manage the critical resources and infrastructure that keep ALDI running smoothly. Your insights and skills will help every department make smarter decisions and ensure our retail divisions and executive leadership receive the support they need to run a successful operation. Within Finance, our teams include: Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial Reporting, Tax and Treasury.
In this role, the Buying Controlling Analyst III will collaborate with various stakeholders (management, decision makers) throughout the organization to provide critical business insights. Business insights include recommendations to improve financial performance and profitability, as well as tools/process enhancements and automations to drive efficiency. This may entail complex data analytics, interpreting financial and operational KPIs, identifying financial deviations from expected performance and developing quality reporting, as necessary. The ideal candidate should have a background in finance/accounting, along with strong skills in excel and communicate effectively.

Salary Increases: Year 2 - $95,000 | Year 3 - $100,000

This role is eligible to participate in ALDI’s Hybrid Work Program, which allows remote work up to 3 days per week (i.e., work remotely up to 3 days per week; work in-office at least 2 days per week).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Makes recommendations to clients regarding current and past operational activity, expected sales and margin trends.
- Liaises with other departments to answer business questions utilizing analytical approaches.
- Recommends process improvements for area of responsibility.
- Conducts independent financial analyses by evaluating the company's margin and operating performance.
- Analyzes and evaluates sales and margin impacts on company performance, and effectively communicates these to leadership.
- Reviews and analyzes operational and financial KPIs.
- Assists management with financial planning, margin budgeting/forecasting, variance analysis and ad hoc business analyses.
- Maintains a high level of data integrity and takes appropriate action to investigate potential data discrepancies.
- Serves as a subject matter expert by providing extensive business and technical analysis based on National Buying needs.
- Collaborates with team members and communicates relevant information to leadership.
- Upholds the security and confidentiality of documents and data within area of responsibility.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field required.
- A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in Finance or Accounting required.
- Or, a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
- Experience with data extraction, analytics and visualization tools (SQL, Alteryx, Tableau, APT) preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Work may be performed in an office, remote office or a combination of both where a computer and office equipment may be used as needed to perform duties.
- Regularly required to sit, reach, grasp, stand and move from one area to another.
- Constantly and repeatedly use keyboard/mouse.
- Occasionally required to push, pull, bend, lift and move up to 25 lbs.
Travel:
- Minimal travel required as needed for job related duties such as training, project work and administrative tasks.
