The Property Tax Manager ("Manager") oversees a team of Senior Consultants/Consultants to deliver property tax consulting services for assigned clients. The Manager maintains existing client relationships and focuses on property tax management and minimization opportunities. Responsibilities include reviewing and evaluating appeal positions, making appeal recommendations, and managing the appeal process for Ryan clients, which includes enforcing policies, researching tax issues, reviewing valuations of real property, negotiating assessment reductions, and preparing assessment appeals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create a positive team member experience.
- Respond to client inquiries and requests from tax authorities.
- Manage and monitor all aspects of the annual property tax cycle for assigned real property portfolios.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge in assessment review and valuation techniques.
- Prepare and conduct client presentations.
- Attend hearings, settlement conferences, and negotiations.
- Manage the preparation, review, and processing of all client reporting requirements.
- Act as jurisdictional subject matter expert in managing all aspects of the appeal process.
- Serve as the main contact overseeing all client activity.
- Review and manage client contract terms, scope of services, and fees.
- Oversee client billing and ensure timely collection of receivables.
- Ensure team compliance with Firm policies, practice guidelines, and standards.
- Give timely performance feedback to team members.
- Ensure workload is properly distributed among team members.
- Communicate new issues, legislative changes, and client needs.
- Participate actively in professional organizations.
Education and Experience:
- University Degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Real Estate, or related field with at least four years of property tax-related experience.
- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage ambiguity.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Computer Skills:
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research required.
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid driver’s license required. Manager should maintain professional designations such as Certified Member of the Institute (CMI) or Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM).
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position directly supervises employees in the Property Tax practice and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Firm's policies.
Denver CO Salary: $110,500 - $149,600
