Senior Tax Accountant or Junior Tax Accountant
Barg & Henson CPAs, PLLC is seeking experienced candidates for a Senior or Junior Level Tax Accountant full time position. A qualified candidate for Senior level tax accountant will have completed 5+ years of work tax experience and be a CPA or EA or a candidate for either. A qualified candidate for Junior level tax accountant will have completed 2+ years of work tax experience and be a CPA or EA or a candidate for either. Beginning base compensation range is $70K to $120K. With variable compensation and bonuses total beginning compensation can range from $73K to $132K.
Responsibilities:
- Review and manage tax returns prepared by lower level staff
- Help manage firm workflow
- Preparation of various federal and state tax returns
- Research and analysis on various special projects
- Resolve tax notices and administer tax audits
- Stay up to date with changes in tax law and compliance
- Correspond with clients
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Masters in Tax strongly preferred)
- 5+ years prior public accounting experience for Senior level or 2+ years prior public accounting experience for Junior level
- Experience preparing tax returns for businesses of all types
- CPA or EA certification or candidacy
- A strong attention to detail and commitment to providing quality work
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Creative problem solving, critical thinking and research skills
- Ability to work efficiently both as part of a team and independently
- Ability to take direction and exercise sound judgment, tact and diplomacy
- Ultra Tax Software Experience a plus
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel) and QuickBooks a plus
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

- Variable Compensation – in addition to your base salary, you will be paid a straight rate, determined by your base salary divided by 2,080 hours, for all time exceeding 40 hours in a 7-day week. Past experience for a full-time position ranges from 80 to 230 hours annually based on work ethic
- Annual year-end bonus of 4-10% of base pay for satisfactory performance, at the discretion of management
- Annual raises intended to keep up with cost of living (COLA raises) for satisfactory performance, at the discretion of management
