Under limited supervision of the AVP or VP of Strategic Analytics, the Senior Member Research Analyst is responsible for leading efforts with other analysts around creating, designing, and executing market research and development projects to facilitate the Credit Union’s strategic planning and decision-making. The Senior Member Research Analyst is principally responsible for leading projects around interpreting data, formulating reports and making recommendations based upon the research findings (pertaining to areas such as products, services, marketing, sales, profitability, growth opportunities, strategy, etc.). To accomplish this task, the Senior Member Research Analyst works directly with business unit owners across the organization to understand, define and document the overarching business objectives. The Senior Member Research Analyst applies qualitative and quantitative techniques to interpret the data and produce substantiated recommendations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform or lead research across a wide-range of areas in order to support strategic initiatives, including market, financial, valuation, and pro-forma analyses aiding business decisions. Work independently with business owners to develop business cases and analyses of new growth opportunities based on research findings. Conduct geographical and demographic analysis for point of-sale merchandising planning and traffic analysis.
- Foster an ongoing understanding of Nuvision’s individual business units, including how they operate, their objectives, the competitive markets, etc. Acts as liaison between Business Unit Owners and IT to ensure data ingested into our Data Warehouse is accurate and functioning properly. Lead corrective actions with IT on all issues identified in analytics or reporting ensuring data is trusted across the organization.
- Support internal task force projects (e.g., Lending Sub-committee, Checking Growth, etc.) related to key organizational initiatives. Provide reporting, analysis and recommendations to help drive direction and strategy. Manage Master Data Management rules by working with Business Unit Owners to create and validate rules and monitor exception reporting to ensure rules based data is accurate.
- Validate and query data warehouse system to obtain customer mailing lists (including but not limited to target marketing and/or propensity to buy parameters). Track, analyze, and report on promotional results.
- Manage member segmentation to be used for target marketing, frontline cross-sell opportunities and track and report member migration.
- Act as internal organization expert and resource on member characteristics and needs, providing support to team members when needed, including (but not limited to) tools to more effectively cross-sell to members, next product analysis and member demographics.
- Key contact for outside vendors on primary and secondary market research. Provide required information from credit union databases for vendors to complete assigned projects/studies.
- Manage Report Request queue, ensuring requests are routed and fulfilled properly.
- Support and participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Represent the Credit Union in a positive and professional manner.
- Maintains member and other sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Treats all co-workers and members with respect.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in corporate market research and analysis, including data research and analysis, as well as long-term and short-range planning.
- Demonstrable professional experience analyzing large scale, complex data sets to drive actionable recommendations.
- Experience with data mining and member/customer segmentation.
- Financial Services industry experience.
- Proven strong knowledge of planning and analytical techniques in order to obtain market and competitor information.
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of all depository and loan products.
- Knowledge of Member Centricity Strategy.
- Advanced knowledge of CRM systems.
- Working knowledge of Tableau using Creator toolset. Able to define and source data from databases and create dashboards and reports independently.
- Strong proficiency in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
- Basics of SQL and programming in tools like Tableau.
- Excellent project management skills; must be detail oriented.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Highly analytical with a proven track record in data-rich analysis while able to translate complex analytics into simple and intuitive communications; balance deep analytical rigor with actionable insights.
- Able to interface and communicate with a diversified workforce, all levels of staff and management.
- Ability to build effective relationships within team & with cross functional partners & vendors.
- Advanced Critical Thinking Skills.

- Experience with R and Python is a plus.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Engineering Business or related field with focus on data analytics and reporting; or equivalent work experience.
Pay scale by applicable geographic location:
- Arizona: $65,083.20 - $97,624.80
- Florida: $61,984.00 - $92,976.00
- Southern California: $71,281.60- $106,922.40
- Texas: $62,603.84 - $93,905.76
- Washington: $75,930.40 - $113,895.60
The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, job related training/education, etc.
