POSITION SUMMARY
To help fulfill U.S. AutoForce's strategic vision "To deliver best-in-class customer service as a leading distributor of tires and automotive parts", the division's finance team is looking to hire a strong business partner and self-motivated Accounting Manager. This Accounting Manager is a key member of the U.S. AutoForce finance team and is responsible for oversight and completion of various accounting and analytical tasks as they relate to the division's cash, AR, inventory, and payables.
This position will be responsible for accurate financial reporting, analysis, and back-office administration in these functional areas. These responsibilities will require advanced knowledge in Excel and data manipulation, as well as an ability to understand and enhance more complex processes and procedures. The role will require an advanced understanding and interest in several finance, operational, and database management systems and their integrations. An individual in this role will be capable of acting as both a project lead and team member to complete a variety of business objectives with competing deadlines.
This role can work on a hybrid schedule at our Corporate Headquarters in Appleton, WI.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in month-end close procedures, including review of staff reconciliations, as it relates to cash, inventory, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Partner with warehouse managers to ensure adequate internal controls are implemented and completed timely.
- Analyze financial reports and records and provide insights and recommendations to key business leaders.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting efforts.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives.
- Lead efforts to integrate new business units to more standardized programs and accounting practices.
- Hire, develop, and supervise direct reports.
- Ad hoc financial projects and analysis as required.
Projects & Process Improvements:
- Participate in Helix efforts around cash, inventory, and payables to ensure accurate reporting and data availability.
- Lead efforts to either reduce or eliminate usage of cash.
- Partner with FSS to determine more efficient ways to be paid from our customers (Venmo, ACH draft, etc.) to reduce COD processing (cash or check) which should create efficiencies in the warehouse.
- Assist with integration of new business units and implementation of controls.
- Refine procedures to daily reconciliation of cash, inventory, payables, and inventory variances and ensure final reconciliations are completed on a pre-close basis (automate cash reconciliations).
- Enhance cash discount analysis - explain variance to forecast to understand differences.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA (or similar relevant certification) strongly preferred.
- 5-8 years of accounting experience.
- Supervisory training or management/leadership experience.
- Knows concepts, practices, and procedures of accounting (GAAP).
- Attention to detail.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of the organization.
- Leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results and process improvements.
