Job Description
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Business Manager, UNLV Academic Affairs Business and Finance [R0144964].
ROLE of the POSITION
The Office of the Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs is seeking a Business Manager to oversee business and human capital management (HCM) functions for Student and Academic Success (SAS) initiatives. Reporting to the Executive Director of Business and Finance, the Business Manager will manage daily business operations, budgeting, finances, and personnel processing across departments within Academic Affairs in compliance with university, state, and federal budgetary policies. Key responsibilities include overseeing budgeting, financial processes, forecasting, personnel management, and ensuring compliance with budget and spending policies. Experience with Workday is essential, as the Business Manager will handle travel, purchasing, and other administrative tasks. Experience navigating NSHE funding structure and transactions is essential, including the ability to manage multiple revenue types such as state, student fee, gifts, and grants. Strong leadership, financial oversight, and personnel management skills are essential. Other duties may be assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and 3-5 years related professional experience, 1-3 years supervisory experience, and 3-5 years management experience. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) is strongly preferred.
5-7 years of related professional experience.
3-5 years of supervisory experience.
3-5 years of management experience.
Documented higher education budget experience.
Preferred experience in budget analysis and fiduciary projections.
Ability to manage complex job tasks with overlapping or concurrent deadlines.
