Job Description
The AR Senior is accountable for assisting the team with all services related to buyers, ensuring that internal controls and company policies are followed, and taking on additional responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Review and approve manual AR transactions from Oracle against supporting documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure appropriate authorizations and policies are followed with respect to manual post-sale adjustments.
- Review and approve buyer refunds and release wires.
- Ensure that the accounts receivable sub-ledger and accounts receivable clearing accounts are reconciled to the general ledger.
- Ensure all payments are applied to the corresponding invoice and monitor unapplied payments.
- Assist with month-end closing and reporting.
- Help document new procedures and mentor when required.
- Perform as a resource of knowledge to team members.
- Provide hands-on training and mentoring for all new and existing team members.
- Perform all HR-related duties including but not limited to hiring, dismissing, completing payroll, and performance management and reviews for all direct reports.
- Lead by example and role model in work ethics and organizational citizenship.
- Participate in special projects.
- Be flexible and willing to work varied hours and occasional overtime hours.
- Perform other accounting administrative duties as required.
Qualifications
- 2-4 years accounting experience - account reconciliation and customer service experience preferred.
- Degree in accounting or a combination of experience and education.
- Advanced understanding of accounting and operations systems including interfaces functions between them.
- Proven experience of effective communication with IT professionals to ensure the needs of the business are understood and met.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Knows when to solicit input from others, including his/her manager, to ensure all aspects are well covered prior to decision-making.
- Ability to prioritize daily tasks and maintain a high level of quality assurance review.
- The ability to recognize, assess, and resolve appropriate coding and bank accounts for manually entered receipts and transactions.
- Provide AR team members with an appropriate amount of structure and direction when requesting necessary backup for transactions and refunds.
