Estimator (Level 2/3)
Our client, a leading electrical contracting firm with a history of delivering complex and innovative electrical systems across various industries, is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team.
The Electrical Estimator (Level 2/3) will be responsible for developing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for electrical projects, particularly in the higher education and hospital sectors. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in electrical contracting, capable of handling projects of varying complexity and scale.

Focus:
- Lead the preparation and development of comprehensive cost estimates for electrical projects, overseeing budgets of up to $5M.
- Develop preliminary cost estimates and budgets for projects with a scope of up to $1M.
- Analyze and review the scope of work specified within project proposals, ensuring that estimates cover all necessary aspects of the project.
- Collaborate with project teams to identify and address deficiencies or questions in the cost estimation process.
- Review contract documents and modifications to determine the appropriate scope of work and cost allowances for any changes.
- Utilize and master department-specific estimating software, with a strong working knowledge of McCormick and Bluebeam.
- Ensure accuracy, reliability, and completeness in all job-related tasks and deliverables.
- Conduct detailed estimate take-offs and maintain a deep understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Mentor and support junior estimators, including Estimator Trainees and Estimator 1 staff.
Skill Set:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of technical training and career experience.
- A minimum of 1 year of recent experience in electrical estimating, with a preference for candidates with on-screen take-off experience.
- Proficiency in computer systems and software relevant to the department’s operations.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information and collaborate with project teams.
