PHB, Inc. is a highly automated and technologically advanced manufacturer with capabilities consisting of zinc and aluminum die casting, machining, and product assembly. PHB services many markets including appliance, telecommunications, electronics, electrical equipment, automotive, transportation, industrial equipment, instrumentation, aerospace, and defense industries.
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented individual to join our team as a Plant Accountant. The ideal candidate will be an analytical thinker with a strong understanding of accounting principles.
The role will be responsible for performing a variety of payroll and accounting duties including: general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, preparing financial reports, and assisting with month end closing processes. Additional responsibilities will include: preparing journal entries, banking activities, and miscellaneous financial analysis.
Principal Responsibilities and Duties:
- Process and complete payrolls for all divisions
- Closing the general ledger monthly and running applicable financial reports
- Monthly reconciliations of accounts
- Recording and reviewing general journal entries
- Inventory reconciliations and adjustments; including physical inventory
- Supporting AR and AP functions
- Inter-company transactions
- Financial statements and miscellaneous financial analysis
- Variance analysis
- Supporting internal management reporting
- Assisting with audits
- Ad hoc requests
Position Requirements:
- Flexibility, reliability, and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field, preferred or equivalent experience; previous manufacturing accounting and payroll experience necessary
- Working knowledge of accounting principles/standards, financial statements, accounting systems, technical accounting skills and regulatory requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and able to prioritize; able to work independently and as part of a team
- Self-starter with honesty, integrity and confidentiality
- Effective problem-solving skills to identify and correct financial discrepancies
