Senior Manager Financial Planning and Analysis
The Opportunity
This position works out of our Abbott Park, IL location in the Nutrition Division.
The ANHQ FP&A Senior Manager is a key leadership role at AN Finance Headquarters. This role is responsible for financial planning and analysis for Global Nutrition including analysis of actuals and forecast. This position reports to the Assistant Controller of Abbott Nutrition. This position has visibility to total Abbott Nutrition (AN) financials and is responsible for Total AN planning and reporting, Investor Relations/competitive benchmarking and headquarter FP&A responsibilities including Division IT, Public Affairs and Human Resources. The position has 2 direct reports, including 1 FP&A manager.
What You’ll Work On
- Lead and manage the RLBE/Plan processes from a headquarters perspective – which includes setting deadlines, providing guidance, completing LBE submission schedules, and ensuring the financial accuracy of submissions and performing division-level analysis.
- Prepare executive level LBE and Plan presentations for Division Controller.
- Actively support an array of ad-hoc FP&A activities for Abbott Nutrition Senior Leadership.
- Manage ANHQ budgeting and reporting, including forecasting & month-end close.
- Ensure accuracy of monthly financials reported to Corporate and coordinate commentary as needed (partnering with CFS).
- Prepare senior management highlights.
- Assess/implement process improvements.
- Partner with Leadership, as well as finance and operations colleagues to learn the business and apply this knowledge to daily work.
- Work closely with the Division Controller and Assistant Controller.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU’LL BRING
Skills Required:
- Financial expertise: Requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to identify and concisely communicate the business implications of forecasts and actual results. Ad hoc analysis and preparation of presentations for senior leadership is a critical component of this role. Strong knowledge of accounting and finance principles with the ability to apply this knowledge to support business needs.
- Leadership: This individual will lead directly and indirectly as the key communicator between Nutrition HQ and Corporate FP&A. Must possess demonstrated leadership skills, including influencing others, and the ability to direct the efforts and development of analysts.
- Communication: This role interfaces with multiple levels within the Nutrition organization; excellent communication skills are essential. Interaction with multiple levels of the organization will require demonstrated maturity, professionalism and tactfulness.
- Deliver Results: Candidate must manage multiple priorities and changing customer demands under tight timelines. Ability to effectively manage workload to ensure deadlines are not missed is critical. The individual must be highly motivated and have a desire to innovate. The ability to work effectively in teams, as well as independently, is essential.
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting. CPA, CMA or MBA recommended.
- Requires 10-12 years of progressive Finance/Accounting experience.
- Working knowledge of HFM and SAP (Symphony) are preferred.
