The Director of Finance and Accounting will play a critical role in managing and overseeing all financial aspects of operations. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial insights to support business growth and efficiency. Experience with trusts and a broad understanding of accounting principles related to mergers are beneficial.

Role & Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and financial statement preparation.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage the annual budget, perform regular financial forecasting, and analyze variances to ensure alignment with financial goals and operational strategies.
- Finance: Ensure timely filing of monthly and quarterly loan compliance reports and lead the relationship with commercial bank loan providers.
- Compliance and Controls: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, internal controls, and industry standards. Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present financial reports and analyses to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and financial trends. Provide actionable insights to support decision-making.
- Cost Management: Monitor and analyze cost structures, recommend cost-saving measures, and implement financial controls to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
- Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow, including forecasting cash requirements and ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs and strategic investments.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in financial operations to drive efficiency and accuracy.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Skills: Self-starter with an eagerness to learn. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting. Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Jonas, QuickBooks, etc.) and advanced Excel skills. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance. Experience in the quarry or mining industry is a plus.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred.
