COUNTRY Financial is seeking a Senior Catastrophe Claims Specialist to serve as a first responder and member of a dedicated catastrophe (CAT) claims team. Principle duties are to investigate and settle personal and commercial lines property claims in the field. Maintains on-call availability with the ability to deploy at any time with the potential for being out for an extended period. This position requires extensive travel to areas that COUNTRY Financial conducts business. Normal work schedule is to work 10 straight twelve-hour days with the following 4 days off. CAT adjuster may be deployed to claims offices throughout the country to assist with claims office workload. When not deployed to CAT duty they will be assigned to a claims office to assist with workload.
This position allows full-time work in the field. The territory for this position includes Denver, Colorado.
How does a Senior Catastrophe Claims Specialist make an impact?
- Responds to deployment directives and travels to catastrophe areas to evaluate, negotiate, and settle personal and commercial lines property claims resulting from natural catastrophes in various geographic locations.
- Investigates and completes physical inspections of property claims, evaluates damages, and prepares written estimates according to policy provisions.
- Initiates first contact with insureds and all relevant parties to gather basic information, obtain recorded statements and explain the overall claims process.
Salary range: $74,000-$101,750. Salary is commensurate based on experience.
Do you have what we’re looking for?
- General knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Working knowledge of estimating system such as Xactimate.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license with the ability to drive an automobile.
- Must have the physical dexterity to walk, reach, climb, and crawl to inspect damage, sometimes in unfavorable working conditions or inclement weather.
- The ability to lift, carry, and climb ladders weighing up to 80 pounds may be required (applicable to property claims only).
- Part 107 drone license required for roof inspections. License must be obtained within 5 months of start date; must pass exam within 3 attempts.
- Work is split approximately (up to) 90% field and 10% office, which will be contingent upon assigned claim type(s) within a specific geographic territory.
- Must have the ability to climb and access two-plus story structures.
- Work may extend beyond normal business hours as business needs dictate.
- Typically requires 7 years of relevant experience or a combination of related experience, education and training.
