Position Title: Adjunct Faculty, Economics

Position Summary:
The Brennan School of Business at Dominican University is seeking a part-time Adjunct Faculty Member to teach the following courses:
- Economics 101: Principles of Microeconomics
- Economics 102: Principles of Macroeconomics
Both courses are required for all business majors and economics majors. All courses are offered in-person. The ideal candidate will be based in the Chicagoland area to work with students in a face-to-face environment. The adjunct faculty member may work with senior economic faculty to examine current teaching materials, cases, and software specific to this course.
Responsibilities:
Adjunct faculty are responsible for the following:
- Adhering to university policies, procedures, and university calendar with respect to reporting information to university offices
- Administering student evaluations, timely and accurate submission of required paperwork related to instruction, including grades and course evaluations
- Grading weekly assignments, responding to student emails and phone calls promptly, and providing feedback in a timely manner
- Preparing course materials, including writing test questions and delivering assignments appropriate to subject matter
- Meeting with students in-person and hosting office hours
- Adhering to the goals and objectives of the course, including delivery of assessments to the Department Chair and senior faculty in Economics
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Master’s degree in Economics
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD or ABD with an emphasis in Economics
- At least 2 years of demonstrated teaching experience (experience with Canvas Learning Management System preferred)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
