Summary: The Department of the Interior is devoted to protecting and preserving the natural resources of this great nation, including National Parks, Landmarks, and the well-being of communities, including those of Native American, Alaska Natives and affiliated Islanders.
Responsibilities: This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Office of the Secretary, Office of Aviation Services (OAS), Boise, Idaho. At the full performance level GS-09, the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Establishes and administers an automated workflow management and control system within the OAS to document pertinent incoming work, due dates, action taken, completion, etc.
- Recommends administrative practices based on objectives set by Office of the Secretary, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Safety, Resource Protection and Emergency Services (DAS-PRE), OAS Director, Assistant Director, and Administrative Officer.
- Serves as central point of contact for the OAS offices.
- Works with managers and support staff to establish an effective plan for internal communication to ensure that everyone in OAS receives information necessary to accomplish their tasks in a timely manner and facilitate accomplishment of overall work program goals.
- Serves as a Subject Matter Expert and provides support for OAS staff travel and invitational travel.
- Assists staff with all travel needs, as requested.
- Creates and manages travel authorizations and travel vouchers, tracks approvals and outstanding actions.
- Maintains and regularly updates records, tracking, and logs OAS property.
- Serves as property custodian, maintaining the inventory in the Department's Federal and Business Management System (FBMS).
- Responsible for reviewing and approving for fund certification all procurement requests for goods and/or service for the Divisions and Branches.
- Approves each requisition and request based on knowledge of program requirements and status of funds, ensuring that object class codes and approving authority are correct.
- Assists in the planning, formulating, justifying, monitoring, and execution of budgets for OAS information technology projects.
The Office of Aviation Services has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
Salary Range: Information for Boise, Idaho: GS-09: $59,966 - $77,955 per annum. First-time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level. This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualification Requirements: To qualify for this position, you must meet the Minimum Qualification requirements for the series/grades to which you are applying.
- A. Specialized Experience: To qualify for the GS-09, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience:
- Experience gathering and organizing statistical information related to the management and administration of financial and budgeting operations of a program office.
- Experience utilizing and maintaining data in a Financial Business Management System (FBMS), Federal Personnel Processing System (FPPS), other financial systems or business management systems; or similar related systems.
- Experience drafting, revising, or implementing recommendations for improvements to administrative processes and procedures.
- Experience preparing replies to correspondence and referring inquiries.

- B. Education: A Master's or equivalent degree OR Two (2) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education, leading to a master's degree, e.g., LL.B. or J.D.
- OR
- C. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education (in excess of graduate level education) and specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level may be used to meet total experience requirements.
