Position: Consultant, Performance Analytics
As the Consultant of Performance Analytics, reporting to the AVP, Analytics & Reporting, the successful candidate will support the Performance Analytics team and internal customers (e.g., Sourcing, Real Estate, Procurement Operations, Supplier Diversity) to develop analyses that help deliver impactful, actionable insights, and will design and deliver technological solutions in support of the organization. Through this work the successful candidate will convey business concepts and analysis through strong visualizations and storytelling using the advanced tools available on the team.
The ideal candidate will have a strategic perspective, an aptitude for collaborating with business partners and a focus on delivering actionable insights. She/he should be able to make decisions quickly, both independently and in consultation with team members, build relationships, understand the dynamics of the business, and operate with a sense of urgency.
This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in an office in Hartford, CT or Morristown, NJ 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain existing analytical products in our visualization tools (e.g., Tableau dashboards, any manual production)
- Support Coupa analytics report-building and dashboard maintenance.
- Gain understanding of the source-to-pay system (Coupa) and apply knowledge for research and analytics leveraging functionality in the tool.
- Deliver reserve / tax reporting and department owner information utilizing the Coupa CLMA tool monthly.
- Provide data, reporting and analytics related to The Hartford’s Supplier Diversity program that highlight themes and trends for deeper analysis.
- Develop reporting and analytics in support of the SSRE Senior Leadership Team.
- Support Performance Analytics policies and triage / solve for issues and risks.
- Manage the team’s work queue to provide clarity on team priorities and guide team meetings.
- Provide category planning support for spend data as part of quarterly business reviews.
- Update the SSRE Travel forecast and provide insight on variances and trends.
- Own the Enterprise Data Organization (EDO) prioritization Rally board.
- Contribute to process improvement and efficiencies to enable improved reporting and higher quality analytics.
- Develop work products with an eye towards data quality, integrity, and reliability throughout the department by adhering to best practices.
- Build and foster relationships within SSRE as well as Business and Technology partners.
- Participate with Analytics & Reporting team members on multiple projects and executing critical deliverables as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Data Analytics.
- 2+ years of experience with databases and visualization software (e.g., Toad, SQL, Oracle, Excel, Tableau, Source-to-Pay systems).
- Aptitude to design exhibits, dashboards, and presentations that “tell a compelling story.”
- Strong MS Excel and data analysis skills.
- Able to work independently and serve as a resource to promote skill development and use of data analytics.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and data manipulation skills.
- Creative, critical thinker with strong problem-solving abilities.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is: $74,210 - $111,315
