Job Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Feliciano School of Business at Montclair State University invites applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position in the Department of Marketing at the Assistant or Associate Professor levels, starting September 1, 2025. Candidates holding tenure at their current institution are invited to apply.
Ideal candidates for this position will have an active program of research with a demonstrated ability for high quality scholarly publications. Preference for this position will be given to candidates who conduct research in the areas of professional sales and marketing. In addition, we seek candidates with the ability to work in a collaborative, diverse organization committed to supporting a vibrant, inclusive work and education environment. The candidate selected will be expected to teach courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in face-to-face and online delivery modes. Candidates with experience developing and/or teaching in online formats will be given preference. In addition, the candidate is expected to engage students in sales competitions and in outreach activities with the university and professional sales organizations, local business community and industry partners; increase the visibility of the Business Relationships and Professional Sales Programs and support the intellectual and pedagogical leadership of the Professional Sales programs.
The candidate selected will also be expected pursue scholarly research leading to publications in peer-reviewed journals, serve on department, school, and university-level committees, advise students, and participate in curriculum review and development activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualified candidates must hold a Doctorate in Business, Management, or Marketing or closely related fields (or be expected to complete their Ph.D. by August 1, 2025). The School seeks candidates who have research and/or teaching experience in Sales and related areas. Applications are encouraged from marketing scholars with research interests in the rapidly expanding field of AI and technology-enabled selling and its impact on consumers including CRM, sales, privacy and targeting, and on organizations.
Qualified candidates will exhibit potential to publish in high-quality journals. Preference will be given to qualified candidates who have publications in peer-reviewed journals and/or a strong research pipeline, delivered presentations at national and/or international conferences, demonstrated excellence in teaching evidenced by peer and student evaluations, have experience and/or interest in teaching and curricular development in online or hybrid formats, and demonstrated evidence of the ability to build relationships with business partners. Candidates with professional experience through consulting or corporate roles may also apply. As the department has a rich portfolio of programs, we seek candidates who can be effective teaching across all programs.
