Responsibilities
About the role
The AVP SRE and Cloud Solutions leads the focused effort to improve the reliability and accelerate cloud adoption for the systems and applications under the purview of the VP, International Operations (IO) Technology Production Support and Resiliency Engineering. In this role, you will be responsible for helping define and implement SRE strategy for the IO Technology organization. You will drive better visibility into KPIs working in partnership with the product teams, and proactively mitigate risks to application performance. You will work closely with product teams to understand their needs and identify opportunities to improve the reliability and availability of their applications.
In this role, you will:
- Create, innovate, and manage initiatives that drive improvements to the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of applications and product.
- Accountable for implementing a comprehensive SRE strategy to ensure that the systems are highly available and reliable, with minimal downtime or disruption to business operations.
- Responsible to identify and mitigate potential risks that could negatively impact system reliability and availability. This includes identifying potential failure points and developing contingency plans to minimize downtime.
- Responsible to leading and managing the team of SRE and Cloud engineers, including setting performance goals, and providing ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Works closely with product development teams to ensure that SRE practices are integrated into product architecture and operations.
- Develops metrics and KPIs to measure application performance, and regularly reporting on these metrics to key stakeholders, and other teams within the organization.

Qualifications
What makes you a dream candidate?
- Experience in SRE or similar roles, with a strong emphasis on root cause analysis, observability, and problem management.
- Understanding of and investment in emotional intelligence components: self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skill.
- Experienced in agile software delivery model, site reliability engineering, operations support, incident, cloud deployments, APM tooling and change management.
- Experience in CI and CD, DevOps automation and test automation with a drive for continual learning.
- Experience with automation toolsets and a mandate to automate everywhere for repeatability, scale, and efficiency.
- Experience working in and coaching Agile Scrum teams.
- Ability to articulate and lead performance engineering and observability activity.
- Provide leadership for cloud engineering, provisioning, resource management and cost management on Azure/AWS platforms.
- Familiarity with AIOps and self-healing resiliency practices.
- Ability to scope and lead creation of “minimum viable product”; prioritizing critical tasks and utilizing test and learn approaches to iteratively deliver technical and business solutions.
- Provide leadership through influence, inspiration, collaboration and teamwork.
- Identify opportunities, facilitate ideation, and champion initiatives that deliver measurable business value.
- Present team strategies and accomplishments to senior executives and peers.
- Establish strong working relationships and build trust with peers.
- Listen actively and communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing.

Experience:
- High School Diploma required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience required.
- 7-10 years IT industry experience required.
- 3-5 years technical leadership in large enterprises required.
- 2-4 years early career experience as a software developer required.
- Experience in financial services industry preferred.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time.
