Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Special Procedures Technologist to join our dynamic medical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various specialized radiographic procedures under the direction of a radiologist or other qualified physician. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform specialized radiographic procedures such as angiography, cardiac catheterization, interventional radiology, and other fluoroscopy-guided examinations.
- Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
- Operate imaging equipment with precision and accuracy, adjusting parameters as needed to obtain high-quality images.
- Assist physicians during procedures by providing technical support and anticipating their needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions and respond promptly to any complications or emergencies.
- Document procedures accurately, including patient information, procedural details, and any relevant observations.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
Requirements:
- Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Valid California state fluoroscopy license.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a radiologic technologist, with specific experience in special procedures preferred.
- Proficiency in operating fluoroscopic equipment and other specialized imaging modalities.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and quality care.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
