EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLY CONSULTANT
JOB SUMMARY
The Equipment & Supply Consultant is responsible for selling foodservice design services and related products to customers; drafting documents for construction/bidding purposes; and project managing jobs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Explain and sell design process
- Assigned to support the category growth in specified USBL geographic region(s)
- Align with SOTF Regional New Business Development team to drive additional volume through national and regional account prospecting and development
- Ascertain customers’ needs and preferences through effective listening and recommending appropriate foodservice equipment
- Create efficient foodservice equipment floor plans that meet customers' budgets
- Coordinate with architects and engineers, estimators, installers, and appropriate construction trades
- Prepare foodservice equipment budgets
- Expedite orders, manage, and oversee job installations
- Proactive management of lead times and communication with customers
- Obtain field measurements as needed
- Attend job meetings as required
- Review quotes and approve manufacturer shop drawings for accuracy of proper equipment description and physical requirements
- Manage shop drawing approval process timely to ensure installation deadlines are not missed
- Address warranty issues in a professional and timely fashion
- Design utilizing preferred vendors
- Conduct site visits and punch lists during installation of projects as needed or per customer requirements
- Specify projects at all times and gain price protection at every opportunity
- Expected to grow capabilities to perform position with greater efficiency annually
- Finish jobs in a timely manner, including but not limited to punch lists, final billing, change orders, etc.
- Other duties as assigned by Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university plus 1-3 years of applicable Construction Management or Project Management experience in a Foodservice Equipment capacity OR a High School diploma or GED equivalent with 5-7 years of applicable Construction Management or Project Management experience in a Foodservice Equipment capacity
- Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) practices, standards, and techniques
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Flexible in schedule to enable the company to meet customer needs – overtime and weekends may be necessary
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office products & Auto Quotes
- Foster positive relations and communications with departmental personnel, IT, Purchasing, Installers, Sales, Marketing, and other SOTF departments
- Strong relationship building skills with customers, general contractors, architects, manufacturers, vendors, and other trades on job sites

Preferred Qualifications:
- Restaurant supply foodservice equipment & supplies sales experience
- Construction management or project management experience in foodservice
- CFSP or FSCI Certification
- Sales/distribution experience
- Working knowledge & proficiency with AutoCAD/Revit 2013 or higher
