Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
The staff respiratory care practitioner (RCP) provides services to inpatients and outpatients as directed by physicians. Essential tasks include basic respiratory care, emergency respiratory care, ventilator management, arterial blood gases, bronchoscopy, and pulmonary testing. The RCP maintains department appearance, documents in the EMR under respiratory and in the multidisciplinary plan of care as appropriate. The RCP assists with data collection for process improvement monitoring and reporting.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Current RCP license from the State of California
- Graduate from an accredited respiratory therapy program
- Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, PALS Certification
Preferred:
- One year of acute care experience (staff RCP)
- Registered with the National Board for Respiratory Care
Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties. Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload and establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
