Miami Regional University has openings for professional staff to systematically and ethically interview prospective students regarding available programs and enroll candidates into the University and bring in their own leads, in accordance with the procedures, standards and compliance policies established.
Staff will serve as a positive role model for students, faculty and guests in the areas of customer service, respect, communication, collaboration and excellence. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a sensitivity to the needs of others from multicultural backgrounds and demonstrate commitment to our Mission, Vision and Core Values. Flexible schedule, with evening shift, as needed. Will participate and represent MRU at events on and off campus, Ability to work in fast paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure duties and responsibilities are aligned with Miami Regional University’s (MRU) Mission and Vision.
- Ensures all records are in full compliance with regulations and Requirements of CIE, ACCSC, USDOE, federal and local agencies.
- Represents the University and disseminates appropriate information about the University to prospective students and other interested parties;
- Works with the Assistant Vice President of Admissions and the Executive in the coordination of all recruiting and admissions activities of the University, may include continuing education, and all off-campus sites;
- Effectively communicates with prospective students in a timely manner, and to maintain all admissions files in an appropriate manner;
- To be present, ready to work, on-time for all scheduled hours
- Conducts telephone interviews to screen potential student applicants and set up school visits with each applicant
- Conducts personal interviews to qualify candidates, present features and benefits of the program offerings and prepare the student to start in the next available class
- Upholds the highest standard of ethics and truthfulness in providing information to prospective students regarding educational programs
- Admissions Representatives may not provide guidance to prospective students regarding financial aid
- Effectively addresses students’ concerns and assists them in their transition into the University
- Accurately presents the responsibility of the student as to what it takes to successfully start school, be successful in school, and graduate
- For those involved in high school outreach, communicates and networks with educators and other high school personnel to schedule and present the school’s outreach program presentations
- Maintains full knowledge of the institution catalog so as to be able to fully explain all course offerings and to select a program which best fits each student’s needs/goals and provides the student with all required student disclosure statements and information
- The Representatives will insure that all prospective students will be given the opportunity to meet with a Financial Aid Advisor and given a tour of the school prior to signing an enrollment agreement
- Assists students in completing relevant applications and assures all required documents are obtained so that the student meets the admissions requirements of the institution. Completes the student application process by ensuring the student pays the application fee and completes the student application form
- Ensures that satisfactory enrollment agreements are completed with each enrolled student including proof of prior education, test scores, transferable courses and other enrollment variables that may affect and/or prohibit student’s enrollment
- Refers students to the financial aid department so that financial aid can be considered and be available when needed
- Communicates with other departments to convey the needs of each individual student
- Solicits referrals and Personally Developed Referrals (PDRs) from all prospective students
- Participates as a team player
- Follows up on all student inquiries in a prompt manner so as to provide excellent customer service to meet the needs of each prospective student
- Observe all rules and regulations per the Employee and Admissions Manuals
- Maintains a balanced and healthy work environment free from discrimination, harassment, unprofessional and/or inappropriate relationships.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:- Previous experience in administrative work (1 year minimum)
- Previous Admissions Department experience preferred
- Previous post-secondary experience preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to stay focused, efficient and effective in managing multiple priorities
- Professional conduct and discretion exhibited at all times
- Bilingual - English and Spanish.
- CampusVue experience preferred.
