Your role:
As the Senior Analyst - Corporate Accounting you will have primary responsibility for ensuring compliance with US GAAP standards. This role will work closely and be a key business partner with all functions and areas of the business. This position requires flexibility, determination, and a desire to drive value across a broad range of activities within Ardent Mills, including month-end close journal entries and reconciliations, financial reporting, establishing and monitoring accounting and internal control policies, providing technical accounting guidance, internal/external audit support, corporate transactions, as well as other ad-hoc projects as needed. This position will report directly to the Ardent Mills Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting.
Your responsibilities:
- Responsible for month-end close and journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and G/L review and analysis.
- Advise and consult with functional and business counterparts on US GAAP accounting and financial reporting requirements.
- Assist in the research of technical accounting guidance on issues ranging from routine to complex.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual US GAAP compliant stand alone and consolidated financial statements disclosures.
- Prepare quarterly return on investment calculation.
- Assist in the coordination and preparation of internal and external audit requirements.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of an effective internal control structure across the business, including the maintenance of ERP segregation of duties.
- Provide support for finance department IT projects and system implementations.
- Identify process improvement opportunities, recommend solutions and work with appropriate business partners to implement changes.
- Participate and/or lead other corporate accounting function tasks and special projects.
Essential skills and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- 2+ years of public accounting experience.
- 2+ years of corporate accounting experience, including month-end close journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Strong technical accounting skills and a deep understanding of US GAAP.
- Experience preparing and reviewing US GAAP compliant financial statements and disclosures.
- Experience with design and implementation of controls and processes.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills with impeccable attention to detail.
- Ability to work on multiple, complex projects, simultaneously with frequent interruptions and see them to completion with limited supervision.
- Ability to maintain confidential information and strict adherence to specific guidelines.
- ERP System knowledge and experience, Microsoft D365 preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills including the use of pivot tables, XLOOKUPs and SUMIFS, etc.
Good to have:
- Masters in Accounting a plus.
- Certified Public Accounting (CPA) strongly preferred.
