ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE DIRECTOR
This position is responsible for accurate and timely submission of claims, bills and receipt of payment for services rendered.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in health care billing or related field.
- Self-motivated, self-directed with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret reports.
- Knowledge of federal, state and local billing and collection regulations.
- Knowledge of accurate record keeping.
- Knowledge of supplies and equipment used by department and the care of this equipment.
- Ability to sort, check, count and verify numbers.
- Ability to read, speak, write and understand English.
- Ability to tactfully deal with facility personnel, residents, family members, visitors, etc.
- Meet all health requirements imposed by law.
- Experienced data entry skills and the ability to type.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drafts and submits claims to Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance for payment to facility in accordance with local, state and federal guidelines, facility policies/procedures and established vendor payment guidelines.
- Generates and sends bills monthly for Private Pay services for payment to facility.
- Assists to coordinate, obtain and secure information necessary to support claims submitted.
- Provides assistance, information and referrals for residents/family members in obtaining Medicaid, Medicare and/or private insurance benefits.
- Updates and maintains census information within computer system.
- Researches payer source for admission referrals.
- Corresponds with appropriate parties regarding outstanding payments.
- Maintains log(s) of accounts receivable actions and outcomes.
- Maintains office supply inventory and orders office supplies in accordance with prescribed budget.
- Prepares and submits reports, as directed by Administrator.
- Able to be on call for emergencies.
- Able to attend department head meetings, workshops and institutes.
- Be able to keep adequate records.
- Follow established safety and infection control procedures.
- Participates in all required inservice training.
- Maintains safe working conditions and follows dress code.
- Reports to supervisor all complaints and grievances made by residents, families and visiting individuals.
- Adheres to and promotes Code of Conduct.
- All other duties as assigned.
