The Sr. Financial Planning Analyst will perform a variety of crucial tasks that play an important part in the monthly forecast process as well as the long-term planning of NJR. The Sr. FP&A Analyst must have the ability to execute multiple work-streams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The Sr. Analyst will effectively business partner across functions, drive decision making, and problem solving utilizing financial modeling and analytics, incorporating a strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills. Must be proactive and deadline oriented.
Major Responsibilities:
• Build and/or maintain financial models, accurate financial reports, and provide thorough analytics of the Service Company and Parent Company.
• On a monthly basis, provide thorough analytics for Employee Expenses across all NJR companies and ensure labor forecast is updated on a timely basis.
• Assist with the maintenance of our budgeting and forecasting software, as well as act as a backup for various administrative tasks.
• Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements.
• Support the annual operating budget process, track and report on performance relative to plan, and help manage ongoing rolling forecasts.
• Partner with Information Technology management to ensure that monthly forecast is kept up to date and assist with IT reporting where necessary.
• Partner closely with key stakeholders across the business to help drive the FP&A function as a proven center of analytical excellence.
• Provide management with analysis as requested
Position Requirements:
• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
• 5 years of progressive work experience in a Financial Analyst role to include budget and forecast preparation, variance analysis and financial modeling
• Previous experience with Oracle and/or IBM TM1 preferred
• Strong Excel and accounting proficiency
• Ability to handle multiple projects at once and work in a team environment
• Candidates should be flexible and adaptable to business changes
• Must have strong attention to details and excellent time management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as solid problem-solving skills
• Must be proactive and deadline oriented
