What you'll be doing...
Protecting our company's cash and value from financial risk is critical to our long-term success. You will lead cross functional teams to ensure the cash management team and the debt/investing team have the systems/tools required to perform their functions accurately, completely, and timely, in accordance with rules and regulations of each country whether domestic US or international.
As the go-to person for treasury system related activities, you'll need to understand the different business functions/treasury transactions and develop partnerships with the various partners. You have a teamwork mindset who helps others with assigned tasks, as well as helping facilitate and participates in team building. At times, this role may require working during off hours to accommodate team members working around the globe. In addition, working certain days during the month are required to support month end close duties.
- Providing consulting support to users on the technical aspects of cash management systems, software and transactions.
- Spearheading upgrades with IT, the vendor, and users.
- Supporting the vendor contract and work with the business/vendor on contract negotiations/renewals.
- Making recommendations for enhancements to the system so teams can work more efficiently and provide ideas for additional automation/digital tools.
- Working with the vendor, IT, and banks to utilize APIs where possible.
- Evaluating the long-term strategy for the Treasury Workstation provider which includes working with internal teams and engaging outside firms for guidance. Present recommendations to leadership.
- Administering all bank portals on behalf of the business. Work with banking partners to ensure systems are used efficiently.
- Driving the consolidation of bank portal instances to minimize multiple logons for users.
- Maintaining a SmartSheet process to support bank user activations/deletions/changes. Identify and implement changes to improve the process. Enhance existing SmartSheet process to make it a more usable and efficient tool for FBAR reporting.
- Supporting Banking Relations team in yearly FBAR reporting requirements from a bank portal perspective.
- Monitoring, test and update Disaster Recovery plans. Ensure that appropriate plans are in place for both US and International Teams. Complete yearly business continuity plan documentation. Coordinate yearly disaster recovery plan with vendor and a yearly exercise with the team to test internet and power alternatives.
- Ascertaining that SOX controls are followed diligently from a systems perspective, test controls yearly and support all Compliance, Internal Audit, and E&Y audit requests.
- Enhancing the communication and interfaces to and from other Verizon systems with respect to differing types of financial transactions.
- Acting as a liaison between Treasury and major financial institutions on information management issues.
- Monitoring information management and industry trends in corporate cash management, banking and application of new techniques to increase the department's productivity.
- Supporting the Treasury Intranet Home page and manage information integrity of the financial reports.
- Providing system support for mergers and acquisitions and other special projects, when necessary.
- Driving process improvement by initiating, leading, and executing projects that align with Verizon and Treasury department objectives, including collaboration with key stakeholders. Understand leading edge industry trends and determine action plans for implementation.
- Exercising leadership, aid in the development of other team member, help drive a culture that aligns with Verizon's Credo and strategic objectives, and exhibit focus on continuous personal development.
- Ensuring coverage of all system functions when team members are out of the office.
- Managing the team employee life cycle processes (Recruiting, Performance, Development, Career and Compensation).
- Presenting and communicating to all levels of the business.
What we're looking for...
Communicating complex details in a way everyone understands comes naturally to you. You have a high degree of integrity and find it relatively easy to build your credibility. When new learning opportunities present themselves, you take them on with excitement.
You'll need to have:
- Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of Treasury, Accounting, and/or financial analysis.
- Experience with corporate treasury, banking reporting products, and bank services.
- Experience with Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office Suite.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Quantitative Analysis, Valuation or related field.
- CTP, MBA or CFA.
- SQL experience.
- Strong project management skills.
- Experience with Advanced Visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik, etc.).
- Experience deploying and adapting to new and emerging tools (e.g., robotic process automation, natural language generation, etc.).
- Skilled at integrating internal and external information and turning findings or raw data into meaningful information.
- Excellent program/project management skills.
- Exhibit excellent verbal and written communications skills at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated expertise in other business functions (e.g. finance, accounting, etc.).
- In-depth knowledge across multiple aspects of the business (i.e., organizational structure, key management, current business processes and supporting systems and services, etc.).

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.
