The Specialty and Home Delivery Pharmacy at MaineHealth is a fast-paced pharmacy seeking a full-time pharmacy technician to provide pharmacy billing support. We are specifically looking for a candidate with pharmacy billing knowledge that is highly organized, independent, and a team player. The hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00a-4:30p ET. There is an opportunity for remote work if desired.
The Pharmacy Billing Specialist role performs billing activities for the assigned pharmacy location. This role supports resolution of common coverage issues, works with prescribers to clarify prescriptions and obtain prior authorization. The Pharmacy Billing Specialist uses pharmacy systems to meet operational needs and regulatory compliance and provides training for pharmacy billing compliance. This role assists with pharmacy workflows as needed.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- License/Certifications: Ability to obtain Maine State Board of Pharmacy Technician license.
- Experience: One year experience in pharmacy environment or relevant healthcare setting and a working knowledge of Medicare Part B & D, Medicaid, Managed Medicaid preferred.
- Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
