Requisition Summary

Responsible for performing varied accounting activities which include review of the daily sales report, general ledger activity, forecasting, margin/sales reporting and analysis of book to perpetual inventory, core accounting as well as inbound/outbound freight. This position will supervise a staff member of one and report to the Cost Accounting Manager.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

Manage and analyze inventory and inbound/outbound freight accounts, including monthly forecasting, month-end analysis, and variance reporting.
Provide support and perform analysis work on dealer incentives.
Prepare assigned monthly journal entries on a timely basis in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and prepare corresponding account reconciliations.
Supervise and develop one direct report; review reports, journal entries, reconciliations, and ad hoc reports prepared by the direct report.
Interact with other departments on projects or issues, including credit and returns, materials, volume sales, customer service, pricing, and the EZTrac group.
Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Assist with assigned statistical inventories and Parts Distribution Center audits.
Understand the relationship of operational and financial systems and develop reports in SAP, Excel, Access, and SQL.
Perform SOX testing as assigned.
Support internal control reviews and external audit requests.
Perform other duties and accounting functions as assigned.

Qualifications

BS/BA in Accounting or Finance
Master's Degree or CPA preferred
3+ years of progressive accounting experience with increasing responsibility
Excellent analytical capabilities and attention to detail with a 'big picture' focus
Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects
Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and be self-motivated
Understanding of US GAAP
SAP experience preferred
Strong PC skills with Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint
Must be able to travel periodically within the US and internationally
