The Institute for Genomic Medicine (IGM) at Nationwide Children's Hospital is creating a future that uses the latest technological advances in genome sequencing to help diagnose and treat kids with cancer and other rare genetic diseases. This position is suited for a mid-to-senior level software developer who is a passionate problem solver that enjoys solving complex problems and wants to make an impact in medical research and patient care. This individual is creative, analytical, and collaborative, and combines strong technical expertise with a focus on UX-centric design. They will develop compelling, intuitive, and thoughtful web applications for assisting genomic variant interpretation, while following best practices for application usability across multiple platforms, interfaces, and devices.
The Full Stack Developer must be adept at working with an interdisciplinary team of content strategists, designers, developers, and other stakeholders. They will have at least 3 years of professional software development experience and be proficient in software design and development, with an emphasis on backend development skills. Prior experience in genomics is helpful but not required. The individual will also participate in relevant discussions, group meetings and progress reports for stakeholders at IGM.
