The Rehab Business Manager will provide results-oriented business oversight and accountability within the Rehabilitation Network in assisting the Vice President in standardizing all clinical operations, achieving highest quality, and promoting care coordination for all Rehabilitation programs. Essential functions include resource management, program management, revenue management, report retrieval via Stratta and EPIC, and process improvement.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provides business oversight and financial management support to the clinical areas within hospital acute care rehabilitation, inpatient acute rehabilitation, and hospital-based outpatient departments for occupational, physical, and speech language therapy.
- Creates and populates monthly or weekly dashboards for all key measures in all areas of responsibility, identifies variances, and assures all variances are addressed and rectified.
- Identifies profits and losses for all areas of responsibility and collaborates with clinical managers to implement action plans for any opportunities.
- Performs site and regional level cost savings opportunities and conducts a cost-benefit analysis for new technology and innovation to improve performance in key areas (readmission, care coordination, length of stay, quality, enhanced consumer experience).
- Conducts audits to ensure adherence to clinical key performance indicators on a monthly basis, presents to the rehabilitation management team, and works through the established council or meeting format to improve performance.
- Coaches, educates, and supports clinical managers on opportunities to capture new unique patients through programming and outcome metrics to communicate the clinical picture to key stakeholders.
- Manages relations and all business-related responsibilities with internal and external stakeholders/vendors that are used across the Illinois region for Rehab: MedBridge, PerfectServe, AMG credentialing, etc.
- Identifies new opportunities for profitability for new Rehab programs within the hospital-based areas and partners with clinical managers to operationalize.
Education/Experience Required:
- Level of Education: MBA or MHA Field of Study (if applicable): Post Acute or Hospital Operations Years of Experience: 1 to 3 years of leadership experience. Describe Type Experience: Fellowship training MHA in a large complex health care system preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Strong financial/budgeting background preferred.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Strong analytic skills, including high proficiency in Excel.
- Business development, financial, and strategic planning skills.
- Ability to work within a rapid and changing environment.
- Ability to understand the business of rehabilitation and work collaboratively with all key stakeholders.
- Effective use of the Epic EMR and ability to navigate multiple databases.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests simultaneously.
