POSITION SUMMARY
The Advanced Practice Nurse is a mid-level healthcare provider who works collaboratively with the designated physician and is responsible for comprehensive care to a specific group of patients. The Advanced Practice Nurse educates patients and their families in order to promote wellness, prevent health problems/complications, maintain current health, as well as diagnose and manage acute or chronic problems. The Advanced Practice Nurse seeks opportunities for professional growth through participation in continuing education, staff development, and responsibilities must be accomplished within the guidelines of the institution as developed in collaboration with the physician and administrators.
Education/Experience
- Current RN Licensure in Illinois.
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
- Certification by a national certification organization.
- Must have a Master's Degree.
- Must be currently CPR certified with ACLS & PALS certification.
- Two (2) years of related clinical nursing experience preferred.
- Must be in good physical and mental health and able to work under pressure.
- Must have good teaching and communication skills.
- The ability to operate designated computer equipment.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
- Works in normal patient care/clinic environment where there are minimal physical discomforts due to temperature, noise, dust, etc.
- Frequently exposed to moderately adverse working conditions in performing certain at-risk patient care activities.
- Some exposure to communicable disease with likelihood of harm if established health precautions are followed.
- Physical ability to work and stand frequently for extended periods of time and occasionally to lift and position patients.
