Position Requirements:
- 12 hour shifts 7 pm - 7 am, every third weekend, holidays, and some call.
- 3 years of general radiology experience.
- ARRT registry.
- IEMA license.
- CPR certification within 3 months of hire.
- Basic knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and basic CT procedures.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Computer competency.
- IV certification within 3 months of hire.
- Must pass advanced CT certification within 1 year of hire.
- Ability to work overtime and respond to work at short notice (e.g., disaster call back).
- Flexibility in starting times to meet departmental demands (weekend rotation, flexible hours, other shifts).
- Ability to work weekends and holidays.
- Participation in on-call programs as needed.
- Excellent technical competence and computer skills (e.g., power injector).
- Ability to practice high-quality patient care following age-specific guidelines.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to handle stressful situations professionally.
- Ability to make independent professional decisions using good judgment.
- Ability to function independently with minimal assistance.
- Attendance in education and safety in-services, completing all safety modules.
- Exposure to hazardous chemicals and radiation; follows safety guidelines.
- Ability to attend out-of-town site visits/training if needed.
- Ability to lift light, medium, or heavy weights as defined:
- Light: Lifting up to 20-50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.
- Medium: Lifting up to 20-50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds constantly.
- Heavy: Lifting 50 to 100 pounds occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds occasionally and/or 10 to 20 pounds constantly.
This position recognizes the needs and behaviors of various age groups of patients, including understanding child growth and development, normal patterns of adolescent behavior, and signs of normal aging. Prior experience with various age groups is preferred.
If the position has direct patient care or contact, the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirements effective 06/01/2015: Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts over 35 pounds, patient handling equipment is expected to be used with at least one other associate when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Purpose:
To provide diagnostic Computed Tomography Services to inpatients, outpatients, and Emergency Department patients under the direction of the supervising radiologist in accordance with established operating procedures and clinical protocols. To provide safe, prompt, efficient, and cost-effective CT Services.
Accountabilities:
Performs CT scans and reformations according to established clinical protocols, guidelines, and department operating procedures. Accountable for obtaining pertinent patient history to provide the radiologist with adequate information for exam interpretation and to ensure procedural criteria is met. Accountable for documentation of all patient information on appropriate forms for department records related to the preservation of patient records, patient statistics, billing information, and supplies. Accountable for compliance with established Accrediting Organization, IEMA, and department safety standards.
