POSITION SUMMARY:
The Staff Accountant is a critical role within the finance department, responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth operation of accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles and be able to handle a wide range of tasks, including bank reconciliations, credit card management, and financial reporting. The Staff Accountant will work closely with other members of the finance team to ensure timely and accurate financial information is available to support decision-making.
The ideal candidate for this position should possess a degree in Accounting and have a solid understanding of accounting concepts. Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel, is strongly preferred. The Staff Accountant must have exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to review their own work and correct any errors before completing each task. As the role involves corresponding with owners, vendors, and business partners, excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Bank reconciliation
- Manage the company credit card system
- Credit card reconciliation
- Credit card expense coding
- Journal entry preparation
- Preparation of a multitude of Excel reports
- Correspond with owners, vendors and business partners via phone, email and mail in a professional manner
- Meet deadlines for each task, maintain monthly checklists
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Accounting required
- Proficiency with QuickBooks is strongly preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, especially Excel, required
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Solid understanding of accounting concepts to be able to review own work and correct any errors before completing each task
- Ability to work on varied tasks and hit multiple deadlines
- Must have excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Hourly Rate: $22.00 - $26.00
