A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FINANCIAL ANALYST
In this Financial Analyst role, you will create insightful presentations to summarize analyses and facilitate decision making for leadership. You will gather business intelligence from a variety of sources including company data, industry and field reports, public information, or purchased sources. You will analyze operational performance on a weekly and period end basis. Provide ongoing trend reports for key operational metrics (Labor, Food Cost, etc.), and report on and evaluate the financial impact of company tests (Product tests, Labor, etc).
This role will provide visibility and frequent updates to key success factors (measurements), with Taco John’s National Franchising Standards and annual strategy results (Bigger-Bolder-Better). You will assess market strategies by analyzing related products, markets, or trends to determine success and efficacy of the strategy/program. The Analyst provides franchisees with an actionable, Balanced Scorecard that showcases key performance metrics from a variety of sources monthly. Additionally, this position proactively communicates regularly with Operations and Franchise Development leadership teams to keep the team informed on critical action and required activities relative to operations results and competitive insight. The Financial Analyst also collaborates with marketing and finance teams to identify markets for future product development and methods to improve sales of existing products by analyzing business trends.
The objective of this role is to support the annual strategic and financial planning process, ensuring the organization has a clear and achievable roadmap to established targets. This is achieved by assembling comprehensive data and information from a myriad of sources, creating a clear, impactful narrative for the operations team to use in identifying trends within the company, industry, and retail at large.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A FINANCIAL ANALYST
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or economics required.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in business analytics, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel and Access). Tableau, SQL, and Power BI skills desirable.
- Driver’s license.
- Understanding of key operational metrics.
