As a Product Analyst in AbbVie Business Technology Solutions (BTS), you’ll have opportunities to contribute to the digital transformation of a leading biopharma company, helping to create solutions that impact patients and their communities for the better.
The Product Analyst plays a crucial role in the technology product lifecycle assisting in the development and management of technology programs supporting AbbVie’s Commercial Finance & Planning groups across the Commercial Therapeutic business areas of Immunology, Oncology, Neuroscience, Eye care, and Specialty. Manages and provides expert advice on the selection, design, justification, implementation and business use of information systems. Analyzes business processes; elicits, analyzes, and documents business requirements; identifies alternative solutions, assesses feasibility and makes recommendations typically seeking to exploit and leverage new or existing technology components. Translates business requirements into functional requirements; performs data and process modeling; manages change; and leads, coordinates / performs testing, verification, and validation of requirements.
In this role, you'll be responsible for:
- Support the Product Owner in managing technology products from ideation to operation, including securing cross-functional alignment on project scope, solution, deliverables, and timeline.
- Proactively understanding current business processes and strategies, educating business stakeholders on existing technology capabilities, and influencing/developing proposed business-driven technology enhancements & features.
- Identifying current and emerging unmet business needs and evaluating features and technology solutions to address those needs, balancing between short-term and long-term value. Identifying re-use opportunities and proposing viable pilot and MVP solutions.
- Eliciting, defining, validating, and documenting business requirements with input from both business and BTS stakeholders. Coordinating meetings with business and BTS stakeholders, and presenting or participating in discovery, clarification, solutioning or grooming sessions.
- Overseeing the health of all BTS documentation related to specific technology Products, including BRD or User Stories (JIRA), living documents, SLC-related documents, Master metadata or label documents, and appropriate methodologies for documentation maintenance.
- Managing demand intake, scope clarification, epic and story grooming, estimating, traceability, generating timeline plans, defining, and executing UAT and testing strategies, release management, and validating engineering decisions.
- Conducts training. Identify process disconnects and translate them into improvement opportunities, productivity improvements, or revenue generating business benefits. Coordinates end-to-end testing and performance testing throughout sprint or cycle development phase of the project. Responsible for monitoring and tracking issues during UAT and functional testing.
- Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures. Identifies current and emerging business needs and evaluates alternative technology solutions using standard information systems methodologies and best practices.
This role will require 3 days in the Mettawa office. Candidates who are not local or within a commutable distance would be expected to relocate.
Qualifications

Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years’ experience; Master’s Degree with 5 years’ experience; PhD with 0 years’ experience.
- Excellent communication and people skills, with a keen ability to build trust, listen, and ask effective questions.
- Ability to interact with business stakeholders to demystify complex concepts without relying on technical language.
- Deep experience in eliciting, defining, and writing requirements for business application delivery in a pharmaceutical/healthcare company setting, including Reporting & analytics focused capabilities, BI and Visualization capabilities, and Business Process workflow or automation.
- Demonstrable working expertise of Agile methodology, process and ceremonies, Dev/Ops methodology, and associated tools. Demonstrable experience with JIRA and Confluence.
Beneficial:
- Relevant experience with Business Intelligence, Reporting and Data Management capabilities in a financial planning & analysis setting.
- Thorough understanding of and hands-on experience with SLC (Software Life Cycle) phases, including Build and Run aspects of a Technology Product.
