SUMMARY: Provides oversight of patient accounts billing and collections functions, utilizing independent judgement and established billing and coding principles. Oversees aspects of Provider Payer and Managed Care Credentialing. Reports on activities to Director of Revenue Cycle Management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Provide feedback to the Director of Revenue Cycle Management on the progress of daily activities in internal billing and collections.
· Coordinate and organize projects and tasks within Patient Financial Services.
· Review and recommend changes in billing and collection procedures
· Prepare financial and statistical reports as requested by management
· Work to resolve patient account problems and disputes
· Research and resolve A/R issues within the practice management system
· Responsible for direct supervision of AR Department staff
· Requires a moderate degree of confidentiality related to the cash control activities.
· Provide support for special projects as assigned by the Director of Revenue Cycle Management.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
3+ years related medical billing experience. Management experience required. Experience in Primary Care billing strongly preferred. Prior experience with provider credentialing a plus. Coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA desired.

- Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and insurance billing procedures
- Working knowledge of CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10 coding principles and guidelines
- Knowledge of State of Georgia collection laws

- Effective written and verbal communication skills

- Extensive accounting software skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
