Job Purpose: The role of Manager of Finance and Accounting position is the main point of financial contact for both the Amplify Seating and Ticketing business lines serving various property General Managers and/or the administrative divisions including the Vice Presidents over those divisions. It is the Manager’s job to support these positions and address their various financial and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the collection and analysis of the financial information for the Ticketing and Seating divisions.
- Coordinate the creation and implementation of annual budgets.
- Work with various personnel to prepare financial forecasts, including an active role in the revenue forecasts.
- Complete pro-forma financial analysis on existing properties as well as proformas for new properties, working closely with the University Partnership Group (UPG) and business leaders.
- Supervise staff accountant, overseeing general ledger activity primarily relating to revenue, expenses, prepaids, and accruals.
- Assist with preparation of daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial analysis schedules.
- Prepare monthly financial reports, including analysis of variances and trends.
- Prepare quarterly business reviews.
- Analyze balance sheet accounts and P&L detail schedules, review account reconciliations.
- Partner with business leaders to develop ROI/Proforma analysis for various campaigns and initiatives.
- Work with corporate accounting team, who handle payroll and fixed asset accounting, cash receipts, and accounts payable.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and generally accepted accounting principles.
- Review and develop processes to maintain a strong internal financial controls environment.
- Seek opportunities for continuous improvement and process efficiencies, leveraging technology and system applications.
- Review and approve all invoices and expenses to ensure proper accounting and coding.
- Liaison with Accounts Receivable team, helping identify and solve billing/collections problems on behalf of the business leaders.
- Review general ledger and balance sheet detail on a regular basis and make appropriate journal entries.
- Assist in the monthly and year-end close process, as well as the annual audit.
- Complete various projects as assigned by senior management.
Job Specifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, Accounting, or closely-related field from an accredited College or University. Master’s degree or CPA is a plus.
- Six or more years of relevant experience in working with financial statements, budget and forecast preparation, financial analysis, and general accounting knowledge.
- Experience with Great Plains, Adaptive Insights and Prophix preferred.
- Advanced level of proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Good organizational, problem-solving, analytical, communication, and relational skills. Also, must show initiative and attention to detail and work well in a team environment.
- Strong character and values as well as a strong work ethic.
