What We're Looking For
The person who is ready for this opportunity will have 3 or more years’ experience in real estate development and meet the following requirements:
- Strong project management and financial underwriting skills
- Well-organized
- Creative and proactive problem-solver
- Good communication skills, including public comment and presentations
- Excellent analytical skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in real estate, urban planning, finance, business, or a related field.
- Knowledge of multifamily housing finance and contract development.
- Experience with relevant land acquisition, municipal approvals, zoning, and environmental review regulations.
- Experience with financial underwriting, tax credit syndication pricing, commercial lending terms, and rental assistance contracts.
- Experience with LIHTC, HUD, Rural Development, State housing finance agencies or other housing finance entities.

This is a full-time (37.5 hours/week) position, and the annual salary range is $75,000 - $90,000.
Work Location
While the Development Officer’s work can be done partly from home, the person in this role is expected to work at our main office, located at 307 Cumberland Avenue, Portland, Maine at least 1-2 days per week, and as needed. Additional travel in Maine and New Hampshire will be required, and dependent on the location of development projects.
