Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?
The Fixed Income team manages a $90 Billion investment portfolio. As the Fixed Income Senior Investment Analyst, you will be responsible for making trade recommendations with respect to fixed income securities based on analysis of issuer/servicer credit fundamentals and, if appropriate, analysis of cash flow characteristics of transaction. Monitor assigned credits and securities and function as a source of expertise in assigned asset classes and industries. Provide general financial analysis and quantitative analysis support, as directed, including projects and responsibilities that lie outside the primary investment areas of responsibility. Supervise and/or train Associate and Investment Analysts. The Senior level Investment Analyst's duties may change in response to the changing investment environment and is expected to have a meaningful influence on portfolio outcomes.
What Will You Do?
- Credit Analysis: Analyze and evaluate new investment opportunities and existing holdings. Conduct detailed credit analysis and, when applicable, the cash flow characteristics of transactions to assess the creditworthiness of issuers/servicers. Identify key factors driving credit outlook and provide recommendations based on credit, structural, and liquidity risks. Build and maintain expertise in assigned sectors, asset classes, and collateral.
- Research and Analysis: Initiate research of new investment structures, classes, or industries. Perform analysis on more complex and/or risky investments and distressed situations.
- Risk/Reward Assessment: Prepare and communicate independent risk/reward assessments. Incorporate valuation into trade recommendations, considering comparable credit valuations.
- Investment Recommendations: Develop and present well-supported investment recommendations based on comprehensive credit analysis. Communicate and defend recommendations to the investment team and portfolio managers.
- Research and Reporting: Prepare detailed research reports and presentations on specific credits, sectors, and market trends. Provide regular updates on assigned credits and portfolio performance.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with portfolio managers and other analysts to share insights, develop strategies, and support overall investment objectives. Develop and maintain productive relationships with outside analysts, bond dealers, issuers, and other relevant parties.
- Training and Development: Supervise, mentor, and train junior analysts, sharing knowledge and expertise to enhance the team's overall capabilities.
- Market Monitoring: Monitor and analyze industry trends, market conditions, and economic factors that may impact credit quality.
- Analytical Tools: Utilize fixed income analytic systems to evaluate cash flows, duration, and convexity of option-embedded securities. Design, develop, and maintain proprietary models and tools to support credit and sector analysis.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
- MBA or MS in Finance, Accounting, Statistics or Economics strongly preferred.
- Chartered Financial Analyst Designation strongly preferred.
- Knowledgeable about advanced fixed income securities valuation and performance measurement concepts.
- Must be able to conduct investment research with minimal direction and be able to communicate effectively and to defend investment recommendations and opinions to influence portfolio outcomes.
- Must have demonstrated the ability to:
- 1) Think independently and not merely collate the ideas of others and keep abreast of market, political and economic developments on a daily basis and relate this information to his/her research.
- 2) Develop reasonable heuristic solutions to problems or issues where financial theory is silent, flawed or impractical to implement.
- 3) Communicate clearly and effectively with all personnel with whom he/she comes in contact, including other investment division personnel, investment bankers, securities analysts, brokers, management officials of debt issuers etc.
- 4) Prioritize work to achieve maximum benefit for affected portfolios and to meet credit review and surveillance standards.
- Must have experience and skill in understanding and utilizing valuation models, credit analysis, and other decision tools, particularly fixed income analytic systems or software such as Bloomberg, Yield Book and Intex or similar applications.
