Job Summary
The Charge Description Master (CDM) Manager oversees the integrity of the CDM and maintains direct responsibility for updates. Monitors key metrics and reports to ensure all activities are completed by staff timely and accurately. Oversees the daily maintenance, regular updates, price impact analysis and coordinates all changes implemented in the CDM. Responsible for the coordination and training of CDM processes and regulatory developments impacting the CDM, including assisting operational leadership or finance with the appropriate potential impact analysis. Acts as a liaison with Revenue Cycle and all departments regarding billing and pricing issues and concerns. Coordinates efforts on the annual price adjustments process.
Essential Functions

- Assigns department staff, evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions. Establishes priorities, assigns tasks, and audits various work flow to meet Prisma Health goals. Provides direction and leadership for the department and all direct reports.
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, staffing, time keeping, performance management and development of staff. Counsels and disciplines employees when necessary in accordance with department and/or Prisma Health policies. Adheres to Prisma Health’s policy regarding employee performance management. Ensures employee concerns and/or grievances are handled in a timely manner.
- Keeps abreast of reimbursement requirements for all third party regulations and guidelines and ensures that procedures in areas of responsibility are in compliance.
- Ensures Service Now Ticket requests are completed timely and accurately.
- Supports, promotes, and drives implementation of best practices in the areas of Chargemaster maintenance.
- Monitors third party vendor tool for any trends or issues.
- Coordinates efforts on the annual price adjustments process.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/Management Responsibility
- Job has direct and/or indirect supervision of team members that may include final budget authority, hire/termination authority, performance appraisal responsibility, and disciplinary authority. Job will be considered a member of management staff and will have direct reports.
Minimum Requirements
- Education - Bachelor's degree in Business/Finance or related Healthcare field of study.
- 5 years of experience in Healthcare Revenue Cycle related management.
In Lieu Of
- In lieu of the education and experience requirements noted above, Master's Degree in Business or Healthcare related field and 3 years of Healthcare Revenue Cycle management experience may be considered.
Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses
- Certification in one of the following: RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CPC, CRCA/CRCR, or Epic ARCR.
