Who You Are:
HighLevel is looking for an outstanding accountant who is detail oriented and analytical with a solid understanding of revenue recognition and commission accounting. You are comfortable working with SaaS based revenue and commission structures, ensuring timely and accurate payments to affiliates. You enjoy collaborating across teams to improve processes and ensure compliance, while your strong communication skills help clarify accounting related matters around commissions and revenue.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Monitor and reconcile revenue accounts, including subscription-based and usage-based revenue streams, to ensure proper recognition and reporting.
- Work with the affiliates team in the calculation, tracking, and processing of affiliate commissions, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Collaborate with marketing, finance, and legal team to review and verify commission structures, agreements, and related payments.
- Help develop, document, and test processes/controls around affiliate commissions and payments.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to commission calculations, payments, or revenue recognition.
- Respond to internal and external tickets/inquiries related to commission payments and revenue discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end close activities, including revenue, reconciling commissions expense and the related accrual, each period.
- Identify areas to streamline processes related to revenue recognition and commission payments.
- Stay up to date on relevant accounting principles, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA or other relevant certification is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in accounting.
- Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and ASC 606.
- Familiarity with SaaS business models and subscription-based revenue is a plus.
- Experience with commission calculations and sales incentive plans a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Experience with process improvement initiatives is a plus.
- Self-starter who is proactive, takes initiative and follows through on tasks in a timely manner.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities. Excellent organization and time management skills.
