Job Responsibilities

Learn to efficiently navigate firm software:
- Practice
- UltraTax
- CCH
- ACS
- QBO
Demonstrate ability to complete various tax and accounting projects, including:
- 1040
- 1120S
- 1065
- 990
- 1099
- Annual business accounting (write-up)
- Tangible personal property returns
Demonstrate logical thinking when recording tax information
Ensure all data needed to comply with filing requirements are collected: identify and properly communicate missing items to prepare return
Demonstrate an understanding of basic state taxation issues
Accurately prepare quarterly and annual estimated tax liability calculations
Proactively take part in tax planning for clients
For business returns: demonstrate the ability to follow procedures and identify opportunities for improvement
General understanding of client accounting service projects as needed
Display ability to handle more complex tax returns without supervision
Provide accurate calculations on complex book-to-tax differences
Assist and guide staff: demonstrate ability to give constructive feedback
Supervise and train associates and interns
Learn and exhibit professional communication skills:
- With team internally regarding status of projects, asking good questions, participating in meetings
- With clients as appropriate and as directed by client relationship managers
Contribute to team effort: volunteer to help when possible
Build upon job knowledge: participate in department-wide trainings and independent learning such as reading professional publications and regulations
Understand importance of deadlines: demonstrate time management skills and learn to prioritize engagements
Demonstrate strong work ethic
Be a team player
