Job Summary:
The Revenue Accounting Manager at Strider will be a key leader in driving the accuracy and integrity of our revenue recognition processes, ensuring full compliance with accounting standards, and contributing to the strategic financial direction of the company. In this role, you will lead the comprehensive review of revenue contracts, determine appropriate revenue recognition in alignment with accounting guidance, and oversee the monthly recognition process. Additionally, you will assist the Controller with the monthly accounting close, playing a crucial role in improving processes and providing oversight to the accounting team.
What you will do:
Key Responsibilities:
- Revenue Recognition: Review and analyze all new revenue contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Process Improvement: Develop and implement processes and controls for revenue recognition, ensuring accuracy and compliance across the organization.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Legal, and Customer Success teams to ensure that revenue recognition considerations are integrated into contract negotiations prior to signing.
- Audit Support: Lead efforts to ensure successful completion of internal and external audits, providing documentation and addressing any issues related to revenue recognition.
- Monthly Close: Assist in the monthly close process, including the review of other accounting areas as needed to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.
- System Implementation: Work with IT and other departments to ensure the accuracy and functionality of revenue-related systems and tools.
Key Qualifications:
- CPA certification is highly preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in accounting with a strong focus on revenue recognition.
- Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and U.S. GAAP.
- Proven track record of implementing and improving accounting processes and controls.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
- Experience working in a SaaS environment is highly preferred.
- Experience with a public accounting firm is a plus.
- Work arrangement: Must be able to work from our office three days per week, with the flexibility to work remotely on other days.
