JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position Title: Senior Director Strategic Accounts
Location: Remote, US Based, East Coast preferred
Department: Sales
Reporting To: VP Business Development, D&M North America
The Senior Director Strategic Accounts will develop and implement strategic sales plans and forecasts with complex, highly political Large Pharma Companies to achieve corporate objectives for services and is responsible for contributing to monthly and annual sales targets. The focus will be on growing certain key strategic accounts, establishing strategic business relations, and developing new business within the strategic account base of ~20 accounts. The position requires a close relationship with PCI Global Account Directors with joint strategic initiatives and travel.
This position is focused on sterile fill finish for Oncology, biologics (antibodies, fusion proteins, replacement enzymes) and Other (peptides, oligonucleotides, mRNA) as well as high potent oral compounds across 6 manufacturing sites.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop Sales plan to track, grow and manage all Strategic Accounts business.
- Develop relationships at VP Level within Large Pharma Organizations.
- Prospect potential Strategic Accounts, primarily Large Pharma, for new opportunities at all locations.
- Update Strategic Account customer data in Salesforce.
- Provide Strategic Accounts price quotations, manage contract negotiations and credit limits/outstanding collections.
- Monitor competition and gather market intelligence, identify and assess market opportunities, assist in the development of annual Strategic Accounts business plans and manage progress against each.
- Develop sales forecasting methodologies & tools; implement the forecasting process and ensure the production scheduler & financial planner has the necessary forecasting input as part of a formal S&OP process.
- Prepare sales reports and metrics.
- Coordinate Strategic Accounts both on and off-site visits.
- Maintain and expand working relationships with existing clients and internal teams to expand sales and ensure client satisfaction.
- Work with Lead Generation team to expand contact base within strategic accounts and promote new service offerings.
- Develop additional business with existing clients through selling additional upstream and downstream services and strategically plan and execute maximized pricing guidance.
- Collaborate with global proposals team for sales opportunities.
- Must be able to travel to attend and participate in sales meetings, conventions, and tradeshows as directed.
- Partner with BD colleagues in other segments to drive cross-selling opportunities.
- Work directly with Quality and Operations to develop and continually improve industry knowledge, share knowledge with BD team during monthly meetings.
- Work directly with the VP of BD and Business Proposal Team to continually improve upon PCI proposal templates and proposal process.
- This position may require overtime and/or weekend work.
- Knowledge of and adherence to all PCI, cGMP, and GCP policies, procedures, rules.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field and/or 7-10 years related experience and/or training.
- Basic Mathematical Skills.
- Intermediate Computer Skills: Ability to perform more complex computer tasks and has knowledge of various computer programs.
- Full Professional Proficiency: Ability to speak, read, and write fluently and accurately on all levels pertinent to professional needs.
- High Reasoning: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where there is only limited standardization. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions that may be provided in various forms.
- High Standard of Report Writing.
- Previous experience negotiating pricing, contracts, confidentiality agreements; supply agreements, consignment agreements a plus.
- A track record of success in sourcing/driving significant business development opportunities to completion in a commercial arena is highly preferred.
- Strategic thinker with a tactical discipline to deliver results.
- Intelligent, creative, self-starter with an open mind.
- Team player with excellent communication, language, and social skills.
- Self-motivated, creative, and results oriented with the ability to deliver high quality deliverables on time.
- Focused with attention to detail.
- BS/BA in life science or relevant field.
- Flexible and able to work effectively under pressure, handling multiple tasks with interruptions and changing priorities.
